Working Mothers

Thursday, June 29th, 2006
I had the greatest time yesterday talking with The Working Mother’s network at Ernst &Young!   I was introduced to this group after an interview there for entrepreneur of the year.   I met some lovely people and we connected immediately. Now that I am a mommy and a working one at that they were particularly interested in my story!   We talked on all the challenges that we as working moms face such as balancing work and home, building a good support team, communicating to those around us, asking for help when you’re trying to be super woman and of course having flexibility!   It was comforting to know that women all over the country are face with the same obstacles, no matter what their profession.   Ernst & Young is such an amazing company to work for because they honor the working mom and are taking some extraordinary measures to ensure that their working mothers are supported and encouraged to be great mommies and great professionals!   You CAN have it all, it just takes a village!!

Have a wonderful INDEPENDENCE day! Lesley

What to give??

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

I was talking with my sister today and she asked me what she should give to a girlfriend of hers as a thinking of you gift. This friend’s father passed away suddenly a year ago and the anniversary of his death is going to be a very tough time for her. We thought of everything from flowers to gallons of ice cream and decided that a pair of pajamas was the best route to go. Who doesn’t want to stay in their pajamas some days, especially when you are feeling sad? She is sending her the yoga cami set so she could be comforted, yet look stylish, in these days when she will feel the loss of her father most. We know that only time will heal her pain, but if we could find something to brighten her day, then why not try?
